Smallville is a story of Superman`s early years. It is a series for young people. The series started on Oct 20, 2002 in Finland.

The story begins in the year 1989 when a meteor-shower hits a town called Smallville. This leaves constant marks to Smallville. In the meteor-shower a spaceship crashes into Smallville. Jonathan and Martha Kent adopt the boy. The boy is named Clark and his big secret is his superpowers. Sometimes it is hard for him to control his superpowers but superpowers help save innocent people's lives.

Smallville is a hit series in the USA and other countries. In Finland, the series has not gotten a great deal of notice yet because of bad show times and lack of advertising. In our country, they show Smallville in the afternoons and in other countries it usually is shown in the evening. There are not many magazine articles concerning Smallville in Finland.

Finnish Smallville fansite began as a small website and then grew to a bigger one. First, the site was named "Smallville Suomeksi" (translated: Smallville in Finnish) but then the site moved to a new web address with a new heading Smallville-Fi. The Smallville website was started on the 5th of March, 2003 and during the first year there was over 4,500 visitors. In the second year there were over 12,000 visitors to the website.
